Trailquest has a reputation for providing our clients with opportunities to undertake exciting and challenging off road motorcycle expeditions all around the world.

India is a spectacular and fascinating country with a huge range of geographical regions to visit and challenging trails to ride. We have travelled extensively in this fascinating country with the aim of discovering new routes to ride and establishing a network of  local contacts whose aims, safety standards and high levels of client service match those for which we are well known for providing.

 

 

 

Our new India Expeditions will offer riders exceptional experiences organised to the highest possible standards to ensure a genuine "once in a lifetime "adventure.

2017 WELSH TWO DAY ENDURO

 

 

 

Trailquest entered a rider for the first time in the Welsh 2 Day Enduro held in mid Wales on 29-30 June. Rider Patrick is riding a 300cc KTM Enduro bike. 

 

INDIA 2018 -  EXPEDITION UPDATE

 

All available places for this exciting expedition to Western India have been filled and the first team briefing and training session will take place later this year. In due course we will open a new page on the website to cover all aspects of the expedition starting with the training and preparation phase.

TRAILQUEST  EXPEDITION  2018

 

 

 

Applications for our next exciting motorcycle adventure are now being taken. Following on from the success of last years Trans Baviaan expedition in South Africa the next expedition will follow a similar format but will take place in the mountains and deserts of  Rajasthan in Western India. There are eight places available but four have already been taken so early application is advised if you are interested.

LADIES DAYS

 

 

 

On the 1 April 17 we ran a very successful ladies only training day. With a range of abilities and experience on motorcycles everyone attending had a great time. We hope to run several more of these events throughout the training season. Email us for more information.

 

RECCE TRIPS  - EXPEDITION TO INDIA 2018

 

 

 

 

The first  "recce trip" for the next major Trailquest expedition is now underway in India. Further trips will follow as the Trailquest team seek to plan the most exciting Trailquest adventure yet undertaken. More details in due course.

 ARCTIC CHALLENGE 2018

 

 

 

 A new venture for Trailquest the Arctic Challenge will be a snowmobile expedition to Northern Finland. Following  a  similar format to our very successful motorcycle adventures the expedition team will undertake a challenging journey into the snow covered wilderness of the Arctic Circle. The first expedition is already fully booked. More information on these expeditions to follow.

 

NEW YEAR - NEW FACILITIES

 

 

 

Trailquest starts the 2017  training season on 1 March. Clients old and new will be welcome back to fully refurbished reception facilities, new fitness suite, extended trails and new courses for another year of exciting adventure riding experiences. MOTORCYCLE LIVE - BIRMINGHAM NEC 2016

 

 

 

Meeting old friends at the NEC is always one of the highlights of the show. Some of the Trans Baviaan expedition team seen here with Trailquest staff a few weeks after returning from the expedition in South Africa. Trailquest  team members will be on the Triumph stand most days to discuss training and future expeditions.

 

 THE FOUR FLAGS EXPEDITION - 2017

 

 

 

THE TRANS BAVIAAN EXPEDITION COMPLETED

 

 

The expedition to South Africa led by Trailquest in conjunction with iRide SA was completed on the 13 October. The whole team safely completed over 2500km of challenging roads and trails in some of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. Facing all sorts of challenges and adventures along the way the expedition ended with a reception on The Waterfront in Capetown.

 

A fantastic experience  for all involved plans are already underway for an even more exciting adventure and anyone wishing to be considered for team selection should contact Trailquest to request an information pack.

 

A 

 TRANS BAVIAAN EXPEDITION

 


 

The  first picture of the Trans Baviaan expedition bike in full rider livery. The combined Trailquest / iRide expedition will see riders from the UK, Italy, Germany and Czech Republic riding a challenging route in the Baviaan Mountain wilderness region of South Africa in October 2016. The expedition is to be fully covered by Motorcycle Sport and Leisure magazine in a series of in depth articles and blogs. There will also be a film of the expedition.

 


 ADVENTURE BIKE TV

 

 

 

Filming of an Adventure Bike TV episode  took place recently at Trailquest. The show covered the new Explorer 1200 and some expedition tips . 

 

SOUTH AFRICA 2016

 

  

 

Training  for the Trailquest "Trans Baviaan" expedition to South Africa has commenced. The team of twelve riders will use Triumph Tiger 800XCx motorcycles during an off road adventure in the Baviaan Mountains in October this year. The expedition will be fully covered in Motorcycle Sport and Leisure magazine by journalist Bruce Wilson who will be training and riding with the team.

 

 

 

DAY 2 MINI ADVENTURE

 

 

 

Tackling obstacles along the trails as clients take part in further training  on their Day 2 Mini Adventure. With some of the most extensive off road training areas in the UK we can offer a multitude of challenging trails to challenge all levels of riding ability. Hard work but a very enjoyable experience.

 

NEW BIKES AND NEW FACILITIES

 

 

 

Our new bikes have arrived  and our new Client Reception area is completed and ready for the new season. March and early April are already heavily booked so we are now taking bookings for late April onward.

 

MCN LONDON MOTORCYCLE SHOW 2016

 

 

 

Trailquest  were on the Triumph stand at the London Motorcycle Show and were able to meet with Charley Boorman who came onto the Triumph stand for a book signing. Business was brisk and we were delighted to meet a number of past clients who came to see us.

 

 

 

FIRST COURSE OF 2016

 

 

 

The first course of 2016 proved to be exceptionally wet with many of the trails at the Adventure Centre flooded. The course was "in house" training for Triumph factory staff and they, and the bikes, coped very well in the difficult conditions. 

 

LONDON MOTORCYCLE SHOW

 

 

 

Trailquest staff will be on the Triumph stand (Friday and Saturday only) to talk to clients old and new about the forthcoming training season, expeditions and adventure riding in general. Do come and say hello!

 

MAGAZINE  ARTICLE

 

 

 

We end the 2015 training season with an article by Ben Miller in Motorcycle Sport and Leisure  magazine. It has been a very busy season and we have enjoyed working with the many clients  from the UK and overseas  who chose to train with us over the year as they developed their riding skills and prepared for some exciting expeditions. We look forward to meeting clients old and new in 2016.

TIGER TO THAILAND 

  

 

Many congratulations to Jeremy Cartwright who has just completed his seventy  seven day, 22,678km ride on a Triumph Tiger 800XC from the UK to Thailand. Jeremy completed two days of adventure rider training with Trailquest during the Summer and is a good example of how careful planning and preparation can ensure a very positive outcome to a challenging trip.

 

TRIUMPH STAFF TRAINING

  

 

Staff from the Triumph factory underwent Adventure Rider training at Trailquest on Sunday 11 October.  

 

BEAR GRYLLS FESTIVAL  

  

 

Trailquest and Triumph staff at the Bear Grylls Festival at Trent Park, North London. Triumph were a major sponsor of the event providing a bike as first prize for the winner of the 30km  "Survival" race. The prize included a one day training course at Trailquest.

 

RETURN TO INDIA 2016

  

 

Trailquest is currently in the process of planning another expedition to India. This time we will be visiting the desert regions of Rajestan on Royal Enfield bikes. Included will be a jeep safari into the world famous tiger sanctuary and a desert camp. Initial expressions of interest welcome - please email us for details.

 

MOTORBIKE REFRESHER COURSE

 

 

If you last rode a bike a some years ago, have just passed your test or you are inexperienced with the larger "adventure" bikes now available this course is for you. 

With expert one to one tuition covering safe bike handling and control in a variety of road, motorway and light off road situations the course will refresh your skills and knowledge and give you the confidence to meet the challenges of contemporary riding. EXPEDITION TEAM BUILDING 

 

 

Trailquest staff and clients swap motorcycles for paintball guns as they take part in a pre - expedition team building exercise. The team head  out to India in September and Bolivia next year.

 

BIKE WORLD TV 

  

Presenter Suzy Taylor  spent another day at Trailquest as she prepared for her forthcoming series of bike tours around the UK for Bike World TV. The episode will be transmitted shortly.

 

DAY 2  MINI ADVENTURES

 

 

 Clients who have completed the Introduction to Adventure Riding courses can undertake a one day adventure ride with us at our second training ground in Herefordshire. Challenging trails, spectacular scenery and expert tuition have made these days very popular in 2015.

 

EXPEDITION / BIKE  FITNESS

BUSY START 

 

 

Despite  the cold and wet conditions March has already been very busy with riders keen to learn off road skills before setting off on their own adventures later in the year. Both male and female riders, with all makes of bikes, have undertaken training at  the Adventure Centre. There has been huge demand for courses this year and March, April and May are already heavily booked. Bookings are now being taken for June onward. Courses can take place any day so simply email us you preferred date and we will advise if that is possible or propose an alternative.

 

 FIRST PRESS COVERAGE OF THE YEAR

 

 

Trailquest  starts off the New Year with a feature article in the January edition of Motorcycle Sport and Leisure magazine. With interest very high at the NEC Bike Show and demand for courses already strong 2015 is already looking as if it will  be another  very busy year. In addition to our one and two day courses we are already scheduled to train another Trans Africa expedition, run a couple of major corporate events, film another TV programme  and commence planning an  expedition of our own.

TRAILQUEST CHARITY SUPPORT 2015

  

Trailquest always supports a worthy charity  each year and in 2015 we are supporting Hope Support Services a local charity which supports young people aged 11 and over when a close family member is diagnosed with a life threatening illness. They are there right from the moment of diagnosis and for as long as needed.

SMALLER ADVENTURE BIKE

 

 You do not have to spend a fortune or buy a large bike to enjoy adventure riding experiences. One of our recent clients completed a training course with us using their 125cc Derbi Terra Adventure bike. Less than half the price of a larger bike, and particularly suitable for the shorter rider, it is the perfect bike for learning   off road skills. This client quickly progressed  up to the Tiger 800XC having mastered the main techniques on the smaller bike.

BIKE WORLD TV

 

Bike World presenter Suzy Taylor spent a day training and riding with Trailquest  for a programmes covering Adventure Riding. The programme will air in a few weeks time.

 

TRIUMPH 1200 EXPLORER

 

The 1200 Explorer is an excellent adventure bike but many owners are wary of riding them off road. Trailquest can now run training specifically for Explorer riders. Contact us for details.

 

 

NOVEMBER COURSES

Due to unprecedented demand throughout the 2014 training season we have decided to run a few courses in November. These will take place on demand during the first two weeks of November. Early booking is advised. During the last two weeks of November we will be on the Triumph stand at the Bike Show (NEC Birmingham).

 

FILM AND TV

 

 This Summer  Trailquest has been involved  with several film and TV productions providing everything from technical and expedition advice through to riders and bikes. We are very experienced with handling these types of projects and anyone considering filming a bike related project should contact us for more information.

 

 

TRIUMPH LIVE 2014

 

The Trailquest team were deployed in force to Triumph Live to run the adventure riding experience for show visitors. The team of twelve were exceptionally busy throughout the day safely leading numerous clients around a fairly technical off road course. In addition to running the riding training we also provided help and advice to those requesting information about adventure riding and off road expeditions. We also hosted Suzy Taylor from the TV programme Bike World ( see below).

 We have just completed an interview with Jim Martin, host of the Canadian radio station Adventure Rider Radio. Andy Davidson, Staff Writer at  MCN, spent a day at Trailquest  riding our Triumph 800XC bikes whilst preparing for a feature article for the 18 June edition of MCN. 

  

 BARBOUR INTERNATIONAL 

  

The "Barbour  International" motorcycle ( customised Triumph Scrambler) on display at Trailquest where the team hosted a corporate day for Barbour International. Their clients were given the opportunity to ride bikes, undertake introductory lessons and have pillion rides around the Trailquest training areas. All undertaken in pouring rain!

METAL MULE PANNIERS

 

 We are very demanding when it comes to choosing expedition equipment and , having used other metal luggage in the past, we are very happy to maintain an excellent relationship with Metal Mule whose panniers are the best we have  used.  Here pannier racks are being fitted to our 1200 Explorer and Tiger 800XC bikes.

 

MOROCCO RECCE 2014

 

The Trailquest team have just completed a "route recce" of additional off road pistes in Morocco. It is always our aim to take clients to places where other bike companies do not go and we are pleased to advise that we have found some new trails to follow. 

We visit Morocco on a regular basis and have detailed knowledge of the South East region in particular. We also have a network of useful "in country" contacts.

TRIUMPH OWNERS CLUB

 

Stephen Jackson, editor of Nacelle, the Triumph Owners Club magazine, visited the Triumph Adventure Experience to see for himself what we do. 

 

MARCH TRAINING 

 

 Training commenced on 1 March with what was left of the recent flooding providing some challenging routes. New trails have been opened up for 2014.

Representatives from various departments at Hinckley attended a one day adventure rider course to experience  for themselves a day with Trailquest .

PASSAGE TO INDIA EXPEDITION - SEPTEMBER 2013

 A Trailquest team crossed  the Sachs Pass on the NW Indian Himalayas in early September 2013. Using Royal Enfield motorcycles the team completed a 750km off road route through the mountains reaching a height of 4200m at the summit. 

 

The expedition used Royal Enfield motorcycles supplied by Moksha Jettley of Back "n" Beyond (see Links) and they performed superbly throughout the trip.

 


MOROCCO 

A Trailquest team led a group of Triumph riders to Southern Morocco in search of a "lost" Foreign Legion fort . The ten day expedition went  via Spain to  Morocco and involved both on and off road riding whilst staying in hotels and camping route.

 

 

TRIUMPH 1200 EXPLORER

 

A new Triumph Explorer has joined the Trailquest training fleet. Here it is in action with a Trailquest instructor on one of our numerous trails.


MOTORCYCLE LIVE - NEC 2013 

 

Trailquest staff attended the show to promote the Triumph Adventure Experience and it was great to see so many of our previous clients again. As usual we were also very busy meeting new visitors (including Prince William). We are now taking bookings for 2014 with courses  already booked as far ahead as May.
